In this interactive workshop that combines small group discussion, facilitated dialogue, and self-reflective activities, law enforcement and residents consider issues that have gotten in the way of positive interactions and participate in dialogue to strengthen relationships. Participants explore their real-life experiences and shared interests for their communities. The training teaches understanding of different conflict styles and how to listen and respond with respect.
Participants learn to acknowledge their cultural differences and, more importantly, learn how to find common ground and gain the needed communication skills to move forward. Building upon their shared humanity enables participants to create more effective relationships in a respectful, inclusive environment.
